Disturbance lesních ekosystémů ve Vysokých Tatrách

Následující část tohoto kurzu se zabývá webovou aplikací BLIF2, která umožňuje pracovat se satelitními daty. Vysoké Tatry patří mezi geograficky nejvýznamnější horské celky střední Evropy. Pohoří vzniklo během alpínského horotvorných procesů koncem druhohor a začátkem třetihor. Představuje mohutnou klenby táhnoucí se středem Slovenska ve směru východ-západ v délce asi 70 kilometrů, Průměrná šířka tohoto pohoří činí až 30 kilometrů s nejvyšší výškou na vrchu Gerlachovský Štít - 2654 m.n.m. V současné době je mnoho území pod nátlakem kůrovcové kalamity, které velmi často předchází narušení, například větrnou kalamitou. Pojďme se nyní podívat jak je tyto kalamity možné lokalizovat pomocí družicových dat Dálkového průzkumu Země.

Projektbeschreibung

Das Modul „Leben am Vulkan“ behandelt Mensch-Umwelt-Beziehungen in einer von Vulkanismus geprägten Land-schaft. Obwohl Ätna und Vesuv beiden gleichermaßen in das Leben der lokalen Bevölkerung integriert sind, existieren regionale Unterschiede in der Land-nutzung und Besiedlung der Gebiete. In die-sem Modul sollen diese Unterschiede mithilfe von Fernerkundung herausgearbeitet werden, sowie mögliche Konfliktfelder von Mensch und Umwelt in Vulkangebieten erörtert werden.

Project description

The course “Living on the edge of a volcano” mainly focusses on human-environment-interactions at a volcanic landscape. The Italian volcanoes Etna and Vesuvius are both implemented in the everyday-life of the population, but both locations show differ-ences in their land-use structures. Students investigate those differences by using satellite data. They assess implications for people liv-ing close to these volcanoes as well as discuss potential conflicts between the local environ-ment and the inhabitants of these regions.

Project sample: Observation of forest changes in the Jizera Mountains

In this work, we focus on the restoration of forests in the Jizera Mountains. Your task is to observe this area in two frames from different periods and to compare the development of this site in terms of mining, development, changes in agriculture and land management, based on the Remote Sensing methods. The area is located in the northern, central part of the Czech Republic. It is a border area that is specific to its mountainous surface. Larger towns can be named Liberec or Jablonec nad Nisou. The region is affected by significant changes in the forest ecosystems and, thus, an interesting study area especially for applying remote sensing methods.

V rámci této práce se zaměřujeme na obnovování lesů v oblasti Jizerských Hor. Vaším úkolem je pozorovat tuto oblast na dvou snímcích z různých období a na základě metod DPZ porovnat vývoj této lokality z hlediska těžby, zástavby, změn zemědělství a hospodaření s půdou. Oblast se nachází v severní, centrální části České republiky. Jedná se o pohraniční oblast, která je specifická svým hornatým povrchem. Z větších měst můžeme jmenovat Liberec či Jablonec nad Nisou. Velmi typické pro tyto oblasti jsou výrazné změny ploch lesních ekosystémů.

Project sample: Zábor zemědělské půdy v okolí aglomerace Prahy

V rámci této práce se zaměřujeme na vliv člověka z pohledu úbytku zemědělsky obhospodařovaných ploch. Konkrétně se zaměřme na oblast Prahy, která se nachází v samotném srdci střední Evropy. Město Praha, které je velmi často navštěvováno turisty celého světa, prošlo velkým socioekonomickým vývojem za poslední dvě století, s nímž souvisí i samotná podoba a rozložení této aglomerace. Více než milion stále žijících obyvatel zde každodenně pracuje a odhaduje se, že na půl milionu obyvatel denně dojíždí do Prahy za prací. Toto město je tedy pod velkým tlakem z hlediska dopravní, obslužní, datové i dodavatelské infrastruktury. To vedlo k celé řadě proměn a obecnému rozrůstání tohoto města do širokého okolí.

In this work, we focus on human influence from the point of view of the decline of agri-managed areas. Specifically, we will focus on the area of Prague, which is located in the very heart of Central Europe. The city of Prague, which is very often visited by tourists around the world, has undergone great socio-economic development over the last two centuries, which is also related to the form and distribution of this agglomeration. More than a million living people work here every day and it is estimated that half a million people travel daily to Prague. This city is therefore under great pressure in terms of transport, service, data and supply infrastructure. This has led to a number of changes and the general expansion of this city into a wide area.

Project description

The example of greenhouse farming in Almería deals with human induced environmental transformation and land-use change caused by intensive agriculture. In past decades, fruit plantations in southern Spain have been expanding tremendously. Large areas are covered by a variety of glasshouses instead of natural landscapes. Students analyse the transformation of the environment by working with satellite data as well as assess regional impacts on people and the envi-ronment.
